Noé Roussel

Frida Khalo is a very rich character, through her work, her universe and her life, she is both very powerful in her style and her determination to paint, but physically weak, honest and modest, she imposed herself on me as a model. The portrait series that I painted is part of a research on alternative reality, with the image of a face as a starting point, a pretext around which an imaginary world is built. It is a pictorial work playing with time and space, we thus find Frida in different universes.

Techniques used: They are very numerous, from my classical training in painting I have experimented with a large number of mediums: Oil paints, acrylics, pigments, inks, tempera, encaustic. I experiment with different approaches to the material through the use of various tools and techniques: projections, sprays, washes, knives, brushes, aerosols ...

Orientation: My painting has evolved a lot in recent years, after a long period of improvement to achieve the technical mastery that is hyperrealist painting, I felt the need to introduce more meaning into my creations, to give them a inner life, in addition to an attractive plastic. I now use artistic practice as a form of introspection and osmosis between being and the world.
